Icons Only

There’s nothing like flipping through crisp pages and reading a story in your hands. I started my professional writing career with long-form, and I will always be grateful for its narrative masterclass. Iconic publications, strong storytellers, and visionaries like Steven Meisel, Anna Wintour, and John Glassie (NYT Magazine) make the lore of physical magazines eternal vs. ephemeral. So, “magazines aren’t going to die” just yet—or ever.

My Vogue center-of-book piece syncs my personal experiences as an Asian-American with the rise of Asian beauty in fashion (2010), alongside Steven Meisel’s recreation of Cecil Beaton’s iconic 1948 salon portrait of Charles James gowns. My New York Times Magazine single-page piece is an editorial account of my personal transition from young, single woman to married mother of twins in New York City.
